Biscuits

1 1/2 C flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
2/3 C milk
1/3 C vegetable shortening

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Sift together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.  Make a well in the flour mixture and add the milk.  Add shortening and knead in the vegetable shortening until thoroughly mixed.  You can cut biscuits (pat dough to about 1/2 inch thickness first) or you can just scoop a spoonful of dough onto a baking sheet to bake that way.  Bake for 10-13 minutes.  Makes about 9 biscuits.
